“The beautiful Devon town Ivybridge was the location for the recent Ashburton /Firswood School Reunion . They were joined by their former English teacher Mark Brady. They had all being together over 50 years ago – in the early 1960’s.
This exciting Reunion was generously hosted by another former classmate of theirs and whose preference to remain incognito must be respected.
The lucky four men were treated to a five star hotel experience which included trips to locations on scenic Dartmoor, Ashburton College, Newton Abbott, and Firswood School, Torquay. These building are presently used for different purposes , but the chance to return and take photographs of them was a thrilling experience for all.
For this watershed Reunion Lt. Col. Christopher W. Brawn had travelled over from Germany where he lives in active retirement ;
His brother Profsr. Richard Brawn from Bristol where he lives in active retirement also;
Farid Sadre Hashemi from London where he enjoys life as a computer expert.
Mark Brady enjoys life in his native Navan, Ireland and is presently home for six months from Mexico where he has worked as a Humanitarian worker for over thirty years among the Tarahumara peoples in the Sierras.
All five enjoyed their emotional trip down memory lane and look forward to another Reunion which they hope will take place in London . For that Reunion they hope to contact other fellow students from that early period in their lives”
